Do you?

Do you ponder the deep things of God?
Does your mind wander away and abroad?
To His knowledge so vast,
Of His ways far from ours,
Do you fathom these things while you work on the chores?

Do you calculate the cost?
Does it matter He rescued you when you were lost?
To the ways that he searched
How He calls out in dreams
Do you grasp what it cost him and all that it means?

Do you know His cost is free?
Do His gifts become yours if you only believe?
To heal your wounds and serve you still
His blood is the price the healer paid
Do you see He's by your side to give you aid?

Do you thank Him day by day?
Do you wonder how the planets stay in place?
His written word is always reassuring
To reassure the soul He answers prayer
Do you know the Lord is always there?

Psalm Style Praise

My soul is is at rest in You my God my Savior
From You I purchased salve for my eyes and into my hand it fell
A free gift like the rest
For You give without return
You have opened my eyes to the schemes of men
You graciously answered my plea for discernment
You said "Ask of me wisdom"
In faith I asked
In Your faithfulness O God
You heard my request, my cries for mercy
I have been faithless
but You O God are faithful
In You I put my trust
I will drink Your water
I will buy Your food
I will purchase your salve
Without money and without Cost
Oh God of mercy, God of love

Sea the Gift

The breeze blows warm the salty taste
across the sand and greets my face
Inhaling deep, so thrilled to be
on vacation at the sea!

The sand is crunching underfoot
massaging every hurting crook
At night it's cool and soft and plush
Walk awhile, escape the rush

Listen, it's the waves my friend
rolling out and tumbling in
Low tide, high tide, there's a beat
Constant moon driven heavenly treat

These gifts of God are yours for free
Just pack your car
Drive to the sea!!

Twilight Prayer

In the darkness of the night when nothing else is stirring
This restless body is awake and restless thoughts are whirring

An extra hour none can add by life's anxieties
Our dear Lord has promised that in life's perplexities

Still the tossing turning hours Have rocked and rolled the bed
Until awakened wandering a book or verse is read

A chapter from the book of God brings comfort in the night
It brings the tangled mind to God unties and brings to light

Thank you once again dear Lord for staying by my side
Whether it is one am or early eventide

To God In All His Glory

To God, who is faithful
To God, water in a dry and weary land
To God, merciful and kind
To God, seeker of lost souls
To God, friend in loneliness
To God, the heart's cry for help
To God, powerful God
To God, listener
To God, patient God
To God, harvester of souls
To God, perfecter
To God, author of life
To God, giver and provider
To God, healer
To God, redeemer
To God, lovely and beautiful
To God, varietous and exciting
To God, intriguing
To God, divine
To God, eternal
To God, complete
To God, dependable
To God, sovereign
To God, glorious
To God, love
To God, everything

To God be the glory forever and every, Amen!!

Abide With Me Always

Abide with me in the morning
I wrote these morning verses one morning when I arrived at work.

Abide with me, fast rises morning sun
The daylight brightens; Lord now help me run.
When in my path, the rocks and pitfalls be.
Oh thou my strengh, my shield abide with me.

Abide with me, without you I am lost
Though persecution comes at greatest cost
Heavenward we look, for there our treasures be
In every moment Lord, Abide with me.

Abide with me, my comforter Divine.
In all decisions, Holy Spirit shine.
Thy precious truth, like salve for sight shall be.
With all thy armor Lord, Abide with me.

Verses to the tradition hymn, Abide With Me

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide
When other helpers fail and comforts flee
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.

Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away
Change and decay in all around I see;
O though who changest not, abide with me.

I need thy presence every passing hour.
What but thy grace can foil the tempter’s power?
Who, like thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.

I fear no foe, with thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if thou abide with me.

Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
